Peach cobbler is an essential in the Southern cooking toolkit. It appears at nearly every dinner party or cookout over the summer, especially when peaches are in season. Since I don’t have any large parties, tailgates, or other gatherings at which to share a normal sized peach cobbler, I worked on something a little different: Personal Peach Cobbler!
August is National Peach Month—a whole month dedicated to the South’s favorite fruit. In past years, I’ve shared peach recipes throughout the summer, or for one specific week in August. This year, I’m celebrating peaches all month long, and I’m kicking off Peach Month with a Southern favorite: sweet, tart Peach Lemonade.
It’s National Tequila Day! Who would have thought I, typically a non-tequila drinker, be toasting this “holiday”? But it’s also peach season, and as y’all know, I’m obsessed with peaches. So I popped a bottle of tequila and got creative, and this was the result: Frozen Peach Margaritas!
This weekend is National Bourbon Day, so I wanted to make sure y’all are properly equipped to partake. I first made peach infused bourbon last year and was super happy with how it turned out. When peaches started showing up at the grocery store and farmer’s market again, I immediately knew the first thing I wanted to make again.
Happy National Vodka Day, y’all! And it’s Friday? Even better. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve created and shared a new cocktail with y’all, so why not do that today? I had some pretty good inspiration for this one. So let’s check out this Ginger Peach vodka cocktail.
For my next installment in Peach Week, I’m showing y’all a really easy, seemingly elevated, and absolutely delicious appetizer or sharable snack: Peach Burrata Flatbread. My mom started making flatbreads regularly a couple years ago, and it kind of rubbed off on me. I came up with this recipe to highlight peaches in a more savory way, and make something other than a drink or dessert for once.
