FIRST OF ALL, check out my new, official A Thought and a Half Facebook page! Give it a like and spread the word!
Anyway…Happy Friday! It’s been a crazy busy couple of weeks at school, so I’m glad I’m taking the weekend off and going up to Blacksburg. But before I head out, here’s this week’s Five on Friday.
{1} I used to have a cute maroon and orange Hokie hair bow that I wore on game days. But my superstitious self noticed that every time I wore it, we lost. So that bow got retired. The other day, I found a tutorial for a really cute turkey hair bow on Pinterest, and thought, “I bet I could make a Hokie Bird hair bow based on that pattern.” And I totally did. Isn’t it cute?

{2} It’s Halloween! I go back and forth liking and not liking it, but I’m excited about it this year. That may be due to me and Kevin having an awesome couple costume, and we’ll be rocking it this weekend in Blacksburg. And I’ve never done a couple costume before, so that makes it super exciting. Not telling what the costume is quite yet…maybe next week!
{3} Elon has an “event” every Tuesday morning called College Coffee. It’s basically an outdoor coffee break, and it’s free and open to all students and faculty. Elon provides coffee and some kind of pastry and we can just go, grab some, and mingle with friends and professors. I went for the first time this week, and I don’t know why I waited so long! Who would ever say no to free coffee and a muffin?
{4} If you’re looking for some cute, inexpensive Christmas decorations, go to Target! I found an awesome LED color-changing snowman and a light-up Christmas tree…for under $15! They’re perfect holiday touches in my apartment. Now I just have to avoid buying another one each time I shop at Target.
{5} I always like to have a good driving playlist for road trips. What are some of y’alls recent favorite car jams? Mine are “Bang Bang” by Jessi J/Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj, “Maps” by Maroon 5, “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers (you know, the song in that one episode of How I Met Your Mother), “Some Nights” by Fun., “Drink it Gone” by Josh Gracin, and, as always, any number of Yellowcard songs. Basically, if it’s fast, loud, and has a good beat, it goes on my driving playlist.
Happy Halloween, y’all! Be safe!
