If you don’t know by now, the Old Fashioned is my favorite cocktail. It’s a classic, and I can get one almost anywhere I go. It’s also a cocktail that lends itself to flavor variations pretty well. Did y’all know that this Saturday is National Mint Julep Day? I don’t need much of a reason to make one, but that seems like a fine occasion to me. That, and the fact that we didn’t really get a Derby weekend this spring. So, let’s get to it and make a classic mint julep today.
Happy National Vodka Day, y’all! And it’s Friday? Even better. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve created and shared a new cocktail with y’all, so why not do that today? I had some pretty good inspiration for this one. So let’s check out this Ginger Peach vodka cocktail.
Memorial Day Weekend has come and passed, so now it’s basically summer. Peaches are starting to appear at my farmers market, and I’m already excited for all the ways I can use them in cooking and cocktails. First up is my take on a classic gin cocktail with peach and basil.
Am I becoming a vodka drinker? Maybe, and I think I attribute it to finally finding vodkas that don’t burn when you drink them (like anything I drank in college, because it was cheap). I’ve been exploring some new spirits lately, and one that I’ve become quite fond of is Dixie Vodka.
Another seasonal drink recipe? Of course. I was so excited and determined to get this one just right that I had to make two batches to get it the way I wanted it. And I’m really glad I did, because this Winter White Sangria might be my favorite seasonal drink recipe this year.
