I love enjoying a baked treat with my breakfast. Or as my breakfast. Muffin, bread, or pastry… I just like having something sweet with breakfast. As much as I love banana bread, I wanted to try something new with seasonal flavors and ingredients, and expand my breakfast bread repertoire. Enter, this Lemon Blueberry Breakfast Bread.
Earl Grey Donuts
I always get in a very Earl Grey mood when spring comes around every year. It’s floral and citrusy and everything that’s perfect about springtime. As much as I love a nice cuppa Earl Grey tea, I’ve been experimenting with adding Earl Grey flavors to some other baked items. Most recently, I made a batch of Earl Grey Donuts, and they turned out so good, I had to share them here.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch Breakfast Cocktail
What’s your favorite breakfast cocktail? I’ll rarely, if ever turn down a mimosa, but sometimes I want something sweet. When planning our Valentine’s Day brunch menu a few weeks ago, instead of mimosas or fancy lattes, we decide to try something different, and make our take on a local restaurant’s popular breakfast cocktail. It’s a grown-up take on our favorite childhood breakfast cereal!
Easy Chocolate Chip Scones
Scones are one of my favorite breakfast pastries. They feel fancy and indulgent, but they’re pretty approachable for home bakers. When done right, they’re beautifully buttery and fluffy on the inside, and there’s so much potential for flavors. After several scone attempts turned out not so great, I finally nailed it with this Chocolate Chip Scones recipe.
Bacon and Cheese Quiche
Can y’all believe Christmas is almost here? While I’ll be glad to bid goodbye to 2020, the week of Christmas is always one of my favorites of the year. This year will be very different—not just because of COVID and all that, but because of new routines and traditions with my parents being closer, and me living with my boyfriend. But that’s a post for another day. Anyway, first thing’s first. What’s for Christmas breakfast?
Apple Cider Muffins
It’s apple cider season! There are few things more comforting than a hot cup of spiced cider by a backyard fire. At least three times, I’ll grab a jug of locally-made cider at the farmer’s market and use it in some baking and drinking. This time of year, apple cider donuts are all the rage. Sure, they’re delicious. But this year, I’m putting my own spin on this popular fall treat. How about some Apple Cider Muffins?
Best Ever Avocado Toast
Yes, I know… what a millennial am I, writing about the best ever avocado toast? I happen to be an avocado toast aficionado. And since so many people are making bread at home these days, let’s talk about two delicious ways you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.
The BEST Banana Bread Ever
I love banana bread. Like, it’s kind of an addiction. If there’s banana bread somewhere, I will find it and I will eat it. Case in point: when I studied abroad in London in 2013, I found a cafe with delicious banana bread and I ate there at least once a week. This banana bread recipe makes it into my rotation about once a month, and I have to ration it every time so it doesn’t disappear too quickly.
