I’m a Southern food and lifestyle blogger and 110% Southern sweetheart. I also host The Nooga Belle Podcast, all about stories of the South, straight from the sources.
By day, I’m a writer for a social media agency. By night, I’m blogging, wining and dining at my favorite local restaurants, creating delicious recipes in the kitchen, cranking out copy and creative strategy, and/or snuggling with my sweet Maggie Cat.
My family’s roots are in North Carolina, but we’ve lived up and down the east coast. I went to college in Blacksburg, Va. (Go Hokies!), got my Master’s degree from Elon University, and then moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., in 2015, right after grad school.
You’ll find me with a cup of coffee or tea in my hand more often than not. I believe that nothing beats a well-made mint julep. Macaroni & cheese is its own food group in my diet. I never say no to brunch. And one day you’ll see my name on the best-seller list.
I started the blog in 2011 as a way for my friends and family to keep up with everything I did at college. I wrote about the good things I saw, felt and experienced each day. That got exhausting and thus didn’t last very long. I relaunched as A Thought and a Half in 2012—my junior year of college—and I haven’t looked back.
These days, I blog about food, Southern lifestyle, travel, and of course everything I love about Chattanooga. Check out my recipes for at-home inspiration, and take a peek at my Chattanooga posts to see why you should add the Scenic City to your travel list, like, now.
