September is another month that I’m glad is (almost) over. Not that there was anything bad about it; September is just a weird transition month. It’s kinda sorta still summer but also kinda sorta fall. And of course, in Tennessee, it’s still in the mid-to-upper 80s and it probably won’t feel like fall until Halloween or after. I just want to wear my leggings and blanket scarves—is that too much to ask? Do I say this every year? Probably.
Anyway, I’ll stop lamenting about that and get to the point of this post: my Friday Five collection for September.
This month’s roundup is a bit of a random mix. But like I said… September is kind of a weird month.
Here is my Friday Five roundup for the month of September!
Sanuk sandals // It’s still warm enough for open-toed shoes, and these Sanuk flip-flops have been my go-to sandal this summer. The soles are made with yoga-mat material and y’all, they’re so comfortable.
Silicone reusable zip-lock bags // In my efforts to be more environmentally friendly, I invested in a set of reusable snack bags. So far I really like them—they’re easy to seal, easy to clean and haven’t leaked yet. I still buy some plastic bags to freeze meat, but I’ve cut down on other plastic use and it’s pretty nice!
All the pumpkin things // Except for PSLs. I do love baking with pumpkin, though, so I’ve been taking full advantage of that this month. What are some of your favorite fall flavors to cook or bake with?
Hand-held milk frother // I think talked about this awesome little gadget in my London Fog recipe post, but it’s so great that I’m mentioning it again here. Sometimes I make myself fancy lattes at home and my hand-held milk frother really takes it to the next level. Related: I’ve been working on some fun fall-themed beverages, so stay tuned for those coming soon.
French press coffee maker // So I had a French press at one time, and then I dropped it and broke it while packing and moving. But my dear friend sent me a new one as an apartment-warming gift, and I’m obsessed all over again. I’ve been making some “autumn harvest” flavored coffee and adding a dash of pumpkin pie spice. Deeeeeeelicious.
And a bonus…
BONUS // Tea. Okay this isn’t a new thing, I’ve always been a tea fanatic. But this time of year really brings it out in me. Yogi Tea is my recent favorite; their sweet tangerine “Positive Energy” blend is perfect for my afternoon slump at work. I also ordered my first Sipsby tea subscription box recently. I had a discount code and had been wanting to give it a try. So far, I’m loving my curated tea selections.
Well, it’s time to say adios, September. I’m excited for October and all the actual fall things that are to come. Who wants to go to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard with me?
What are some things you loved the most during September?
