I eat a lot of yogurt. Like, a lot of yogurt. Especially Greek yogurt. Some people don’t like it, but I eat enough to make up for them. Every time I go to the grocery store, I pick up a couple cups of my favorite yogurt flavors. It’s a quick and easy snack, at home or at work, and there are even some sweeter flavors I can have for dessert.
While yogurt is delicious by itself, I also love to spice it up and use it as a fruit dip. Vanilla Greek yogurt is a perfect base; it’s naturally sweet, and you can add almost whatever you want, and it just gets better. There are so many flavors and mixes to make, and I’ve experimented with a lot myself. But I think I’ve finally found the easiest, most perfect yogurt fruit dip, ever.
It only has 3 ingredients, and I bet you have them all in your fridge or spice drawer already. I’ve recently read about how good cinnamon is for you – it boosts your metabolism and helps you burn more fat. Who doesn’t love to read that? So I’ve been incorporating more cinnamon into my diet, little by little. I also love the almond flavor in general, and it goes so nicely with vanilla yogurt.
So here it is… the easiest, best-ever yogurt fruit dip.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1, 8-oz. cup low-fat vanilla Greek yogurt (I use Dannon or Yoplait)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- Fruit of your choosing (I like apples and strawberries best)
All you do is mix the cinnamon and almond extract into the yogurt, stir well, and serve with your favorite fruit. Or eat it by itself… that’s good, too. You can double the recipe to make a dip for larger parties.
