Reading: I recently finished Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed, the author of Wild, and I just loved it. I had no idea how my next book would measure up. A friend from school recommended The Defining Decade by Meg Jay, so I picked that up at Barnes & Noble a couple weeks ago. I’m only a few chapters in, and it’s already so intriguing. Learning the psychology behind my generation–today’s 20-somethings–and what makes us tick, really explains a lot.
Baking: Zucchini muffins! They’re delicious, and perfect bites for breakfast to-go.
Eating: I got adventurous this last weekend and tried a couple new things. I made attempted to make baked cauliflower cakes, similar to baked potato pancakes. They…weren’t the best thing I’ve ever made. I also decided to try quinoa. Marginally more successful! I made a quinoa pizza crust and turned it into a cheesy pizza.
Wearing: Anything that’s comfortable and warm. Hello leggings, oversized sweaters and shirts, and boots.
Watching: Netflix, and lots of basketball. I love basketball season. I really want to start watching Friends on Netflix. I’ve only ever seen it in reruns on TBS. Also forever watching Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory reruns. Easily two of my favorite shows, ever.
Writing: I’ve mostly been catching up on blog posts, since I was gone, and then sick, and then busy. I’ve also been making lots of notes and outlines for other pieces I’d like to write, both for the blog and for possible publication elsewhere. I’ve had a lot of ideas lately. I love surges of creativity!
Feeling: Nervous, anxious, excited, and enthusiastic all at once! It’s a weird mix, but somehow, it’s encouraging.
