It’s been a crazy month, y’all. Between launching my podcast, the day job picking up, side projects and whatever else has come up in my life lately, rest and time to myself had become a rarity. I had to remind myself several times that it’s okay to rest and take a break. But alas, it’s been a hot minute since I did a Weekly Sip post, so it’s time for a new one.
Sometimes you have to do things you’re scared to do. Sometimes you have to take risks and challenge yourself to try something out of your comfort zone. Or sometimes you have an idea and think, “Yeah, I might could do that.”
That’s why I wanted to start a podcast.
Well, that’s part of why I wanted to start a podcast. There’s a little more to it than that. To be honest, I wanted and needed yet another side project, and learning something completely new from scratch seemed like a good idea.
Wow, how long as it been since I did a Weekly Sip post? Way too long, that’s what. More specifically, my last Weekly Sip was posted back in September. So, it’s time for the first Weekly Sip of 2018.
I started the Weekly Sip series last January as a way to dive deeper into my own story and how my experiences have shaped my path. 2017 was a huge year of growth for me and I know 2018 will be, too. Where else would I share my journey in 2018 but on this blog, in this series?
I’ve chosen my 2018 word of the year.
I debated writing a whole post about my “word of the year” for 2018. Back in 2016, I did a whole series about my word of the year and how it applied to my goals (check out my Be Bold 2016 posts here). Doing that series (with a few other great bloggers, to boot) helped me hold myself accountable to my goals and keeping my word of “care” in mind as I worked toward them.
Happy 2018, y’all! I’m so ready for the fresh start that comes with the New Year. As I said in my 2017 year in review post, 2017 was quite the year. But I have a feeling that 2018 will be twice as epic.
Like I said… I’m so ready.
I haven’t written a “goals” post in quite awhile. They always seem a bit cliche, especially this time of year. But in the spirit of the New Year, and in hopes that it’ll keep me accountable, I’m sharing my 2018 goals with y’all.
