Welcome to A Thought and a Half!
If you're a new reader, you're in the right spot. This is where you can learn a bit more about my blog and check out some of favorite and most popular posts.
I started blogging in 2011.
That was my sophomore year of college. I started the blog as a way to write about my daily college life so my friends and family could keep up with me from afar. Back then, I called this space "On a Lighter Note," because I wrote about the good things I saw, felt and experienced each day. That got exhausting and thus didn't last very long.
I relaunched as A Thought and a Half in 2012—my junior year of college—and I haven't looked back. I rebranded in 2015 with a new design and platform. I believe that a blog is never truly "finished" or "complete," but I've been really happy with how A Thought and a Half has transformed and grown over the years.

Since then, I've blogged about a lot of topics.
From college, to grad school, to post-grad and real life, life has thrown some interesting experiences my way. When I went through some rough times shortly after moving to Chattanooga, I poured my heart and energy into making my blog what it is today and sharing (some of) what I was going through. I always hope that those stories and experiences I shared will help or inspire at least some of my readers in some way.

If you're into coffee and sometimes inspirational musings, check out my Weekly Sip series. It's all about diving deep into the barest bones of our stories and messages and be our most honest selves. It's also an excuse for me to check out the best drink spots in my city—from coffee to beer to craft cocktails.
Moving to Chattanooga in 2015 changed my life and my blog.
It sounds melodramatic—and okay, maybe it kind of is—but it was a game changer, for me personally and for my blog. There was so much in this city for me to explore, and I loved it so much that I started to share it here.
Chattanooga is often overlooked, since we sit halfway between Atlanta and Nashville, but there is no reason to skip over it. Spend a day here and you'll understand why it's so easy to fall in love with the Scenic City.
